To our valued community,
Like many other organizations, we have been discussing the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and how our events could have an impact.
Given the directives of the California governor, we are suspending all events through April 20th. This includes:
- Sunday, March 15th: film screening of Julius Caesar
- Tuesday, March 17th: open reading in Escondido
- Sunday, April 5th: Bard Birthday Celebration
- Tuesday, April 7th: open reading at Coronado Library
- Saturday, April 18th: Student Shakespeare Festival
Of course, these decisions are not made lightly and we act with good faith and with the safety of everyone in mind.
Regarding the Student Festival, and along with our producing partner Write Out Loud, we are reviewing the possibility of postponing to a later date. We appreciate your understanding, particularly those who have already dedicated countless efforts to make all these events possible.
We continue to monitor the situation and will keep you all apprised as to the future status of our various events. We are currently exploring other ways we can stay connected in our very digital world, so please stay tuned.
And remember: Shakespeare and his contemporaries survived numerous plagues in London, and we will all get through this too!
Thank you,
Gordon Gidlund, President
Nathan Agin, Vice President
John Tessmer, Artistic Director
