Auditions and Submissions

Submissions are closed at this time! Stay tuned for our next opportunity!

Call for Shakespeare Video Submissions!

As we continue producing in this virtual world, we are accepting submissions for future Shakespeare showcases and virtual “Art Stops” collaborations with the San Diego Museum of Art.

All submissions are now due by FRIDAY, JUNE 5TH, and thank you in advance for sharing your talent and your love of Shakespeare with us!

Using the form below, please submit your information and TWO VIDEOS of solo Shakespeare pieces (sonnets or monologues).

We are requesting two videos because:

  1. A variety of pieces for any program being constructed is essential; and
  2. In time, it is possible both pieces could be used.

In the videos, please briefly introduce yourself and your piece. (You may choose to include why you’ve selected it and/or its significance to you.)

Please film your videos as best you can to be “audience-ready”, with regard to lighting and sound, so that we can clearly and adequately see and hear you. Please also keep variety in mind as you choose your pieces, in terms of tone, genre, degree of seriousness or lightness, drama or comedy, etc.—just as you would for an in-person audition!

Please ensure your videos are viewable; you may keep them unlisted/hidden, but they must be accessible by someone without logging in or with a password. Please check this before submitting by using “private” or “incognito” mode or with a different browser where you are not logged in to the uploading service. With a limited staff of volunteers, we may not have the time to contact or consider those whose videos we cannot access. Thank you for understanding.

We are thrilled to offer these opportunities to members of the Society; if you’re not currently a member and are selected, you will be asked to join (starting at just $35 for Individuals). Some projects may involve stipends. If cast for your first project and no stipend is available, you will be guaranteed a stipend for a future project within a year of joining which will equal or exceed your membership fee.
