Macbeth Open Reading: Nov/Dec 2018

THE PLAY

Returning as heroes from the battlefield in the ruined aftermath of a bloody civil war,  Macbeth and Banquo encounter three witches who prophesy that Macbeth will become King of Scotland. When Lady Macbeth learns of this, she compels her husband to murder King Duncan, unleashing a brutal cycle of bloodshed, paranoia and guilt, as the couple do whatever is needed to cling to the crown.

THE DIRECTOR

Darryl Woodson – President, San Diego Shakespeare Society, 2017 Star award honoree, San Diego Performing Arts League, Actor and stage manager, National Tours for the New Shakespeare Company of San Francisco. Training Congress Scholarship, American Conservatory Theater, San Francisco. Actor, American Conservatory Theater, Eureka Theater and The Old Spaghetti Factory, San Francisco. Colony and Synthaxis Threaters, Los Angeles. Various films, LA. Vietnam War Veteran.

Mr. Woodson recently played the role of Ross in the Trinity Theater’s production of Macbeth in March this year at the 10th Avenue Playhouse in downtown San Diego.
