25th Star Awards Honoring SDSS Board Member Gordon Gidlund

Posted January 5, 2019 by Bardologist | Leave a Comment

Join The San Diego Performing Arts League for the 25th STAR AWARDS on February 2, 2019, a celebration of volunteers in the performing arts!

“Individuals representing over 40 arts companies will be honored for volunteering over 200,000 hours to the arts.”

Our Membership Director Gordon Gidlund (and playwright of three Shakespeare-themed mock trials), will receive an award that evening for his countless hours of dedication to SDSS!

A practicing attorney with the IRS Office of Chief Counsel since 1984 and an adjunct professor at the University of San Diego School of Law since 1999, Mr. Gidlund is concerned with the intersection of Shakespeare and the law. He has written two scripts for the Society’s mock trial productions, “The Kingdom of Denmark against Hamlet” and “The Kingdom of Naples vs. Prospero”. He served as a Peace Corps Volunteer teaching English in the Republic of Korea. As a yeoman, he has had long associations with the Boy Scouts, the Red Cross, St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, and the local Civil War Round Table. He has a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and a J.D. from the University of Minnesota.
