The Society is proud to announce its collaboration with San Diego State University’s American Revolution and Constitutional History Project. We have donated $1,000 to the project.
An undergraduate fellow, Jack Krepps, will conduct exclusive research on the impact of Shakespeare and his works on the Founding Fathers and on early American society as a whole. In commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the United States, Jack will further evaluate the correlation between Shakespeare and the events that unfolded in 1776, as well as existing Shakespearian notions regarding “independence” and governmental issues relevant to the subject.
Jack will subsequently give presentations to the San Diego Shakespeare Society itself, local schools, and theater groups to highlight the expansive nature of Shakespeare’s impact on the American Revolutionary period.
