Hamlet Walks!

Posted October 10, 2024 by Gordon Gidlund |

On October 6th, 2024, by majority voice vote, a jury of 31 “Danes” found Hamlet not guilty of the murder of the courtier Polonius. Many thanks to our diligent paparazzi Dennis Williams who recorded the spectacle.

L to R: Kevin Manley (Hamlet), Josh Freeman (Rosencrantz), JP Wishchuk (Horatio), Susan Benninghoff (Defense counsel), Gordon L. Gidlund (Understudy and Playwright), Janaki Stoeckley (Queen Gertrude), Bill Glaser (Clerk), Bryan H. Wildenthal (Judge), and Samuel W. Bettwy (Prosecutor).
“Just a minute, sir, you will keep a civil tongue in my courtroom.”
“How now, lawyer, thou forgetest, I am your Queen, thou wilt not malign me thus!”
“Oh, I remember you’re the Queen, twice over, in fact.”
“What can I declare, esquire, but Hamlet was in sorry confusion, and he needed to be minded.”
“A mote it was to trouble the mind’s eye.”
“Well, that reminds me, you admit you were acting mad, weren’t you?”
“Nay, I would only call it mine antic disposition.”
