You Gotta Laugh: Shakespeare’s Fools and Clowns

June 28 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
$25 – $50

Fools and clowns play important roles across Shakespeare’s cannon. In this online discussion-based workshop, we will learn about the distinction between fools and clowns in Shakespeare’s theater, the performance and theater history behind them, as well as how the function and representation of Shakespeare’s fools and clowns continue to evolve and change. In short, we will think about fools and clowns from a variety of perspectives and approaches. If you are interested in acting, literature, philosophy, comedy, Shakespeare, or just like to learn new things, this is a workshop for you! No experience with Shakespeare necessary. There will be something for everyone, whether you are a Shakespeare scholar or have never heard of Shakespeare before.
