SUMMARY:Online Open Reading
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our very FIRST virtual reading—and you’re invited\, wherever you are! \nClick HERE on April 7th at 5:30 pm to join our Zoom reading! \nThe open readings began in 2011\, and every month\, we’ve met in-person to read the works of Shakespeare! We’ve had several meeting spots over the years\, and most recently\, we’ve been at the Coronado Public Library and the Barnes and Noble in Escondido. \nAs we all continue to “shelter-in-place”\, we are transitioning our events in light of the physical distancing that’s taking place—and so\, we bring you another virtual experiment—in collaboration with the Coronado Public Library—and hope that you’ll attend! \nLed by Society Board member Nathan Agin\, we’ll read comedic scenes from Shakespeare’s works\, including selections from Much Ado About Nothing\, The Taming of the Shrew\, Twelfth Night\, Love’s Labour’s Lost\, and more! \nYou can attend to read\, or just listen! \n(You’ll need to have Zoom installed on your phone or computer.)

SUMMARY:The Kingdom of England against Richard Plantagenet
DESCRIPTION:Josh Freeman in the dock as the defendant Richard Plantagenet.\n\n\nIn September 2018\, our assumption was that King Richard III survived the Battle of Bosworth Field and was brought back to London to stand trial for the murders of various noblemen and of his two nephews in the Tower. Elizabeth Woodville and Lord Stanley testified to the defendant’s fiendish acts. The defense argued that Richard acted properly and expediently in executing traitors who sought to initiate a coup d’état against him\, the rightful ruler. As to his nephews\, he disclaimed any knowledge of their ultimate fate and pointed instead to an alternative suspect in the person of King Henry VII\, who possessed both motive and opportunity to eliminate the rival Yorkist claimants. \n\nRichard Plantagenet ~ Josh Freeman\nLord Thomas Stanley ~ Darryl Woodson\nSir James Tyrrel ~ Adam Gilmore\nElizabeth Woodville ~ Susan Benninghoff\nSir Edmund Shaw ~ Martin White\nRichard Ratcliffe ~ Alexis Park\nPresiding Judge ~ Bryan H. Wildenthal\, Professor\, Thomas Jefferson School of Law\nProsecution Counsel ~ Gordon L. Gidlund\, Esq.\nDefense Counsel ~ Sam Bettwy\, Adjunct Professor\, Thomas Jefferson School of Law\nCourt Clerk ~ Claire White\nDirector ~ Darryl Woodson\nPlaywright ~ Gordon L. Gidlund\, Esq.
