SUMMARY:Boy My Greatness
DESCRIPTION:What happened to the boys who played Shakespeare’s women? In the summer of 1606\, six boy players warm up\, run lines\, gossip\, and fall in and out of love in the midst of rehearsals for some of Shakespeare’s greatest plays. \nAs the plague and rising religious conservatism threaten their way of life\, they are all forced to reconsider their futures on the stage and ask: how much can we give to the theatre? \nCome on in! All tickets to Boy My Greatness are offered free of charge. Donations of any size ($5? $25? $50?) are deeply appreciated to allow us to continue to offer free admission while paying our artists. Masks are not required but are invited. \nTo reserve seats click here.

SUMMARY:Measure for Measure
DESCRIPTION:The Old Globe. \nJustice and desire collide in Shakespeare’s timeless tale of power and hypocrisy. When Vienna’s Duke suddenly disappears\, his morally rigid deputy Angelo takes control—determined to rid the city of vice. But when he condemns a young man to death and then propositions the man’s sister\, his actions reveal the cracks in his facade of authority. Filled with rich characters\, surprising twists\, and a comic group of seedy grifters on the make\, Measure for Measure explores who holds power\, who gets punished\, and what it truly means to be virtuous. \nFor tickets\, click here.

SUMMARY:The Book of Will
DESCRIPTION:The Book of Will is a play by Lauren Gunderson that features Shakespeare’s friends\, Henry Condell and John Heminges\, who collect and publish his plays after his death. Set in the 1620s\, they are motivated by a pirated\, poorly done version of Hamlet and the fear that the plays will be lost forever. The play is a fanciful\, funny\, and poignant celebration of friendship\, theatre\, and the struggle to preserve the plays of the First Folio and preserve the words that shaped their lives. \nDetails here.

SUMMARY:Churlish Chiding of Winter Winds: A Shakespeariment
DESCRIPTION:The icy winds of winter set the stage for this one-of-a-kind theatrical experience that celebrates Shakespeare’s language\, poetry\, imagery and themes. SUMMARY:The Kingdom of Denmark against Hamlet: A Shakespeare Mock Trial and Talkback
DESCRIPTION:Our premise is that after King Claudius orders Hamlet sent to England for his killing of Polonius\, a great storm at sea arises that prevents Hamlet and his escorts Rosenkrantz and Guildenstern from taking ship. In the meantime\, Laertes returns from France\, learns of his father’s death\, and raises a rebellion against Claudius. Always the consummate politician\, Claudius orders Hamlet seized and put on trial\, hoping to assuage Laertes. \nThe audience will serve as the jury and deliver its verdict by voice vote at the conclusion of the trial. We will also hold a talkback session with the cast and audience.

SUMMARY:Twelfth Night of the Living Dead (or What You Kill)
DESCRIPTION:This is what happens to Shakespeare’s original text of Twelfth Night when its heroine\, its ‘beating heart\,’ is marauding through it as a ZOMBIE. \nViola didn’t survive the shipwreck. But she still washes up in Illyria\, with a single-minded purpose – brains. A loving massacre of Shakespeare’s masterful comedy\, born from the realization that the original text can and does survive as its characters\, one by one\, turn into zombies. The sheer self-involvement of some characters transcends all need for earthly dialogue\, and that one of the characters has\, in fact\, been swearing revenge for 400 years. Shakespeare meets creature-feature in this mash-up that promises to be unlike anything you’ve ever seen before! \nBuy tickets: https://www.loudfridge.com/twelfthnight \nAll tickets to Twelfth Night of the Living Dead are offered free of charge. \nDonations of any size ($5? $20? $50?) are deeply appreciated to allow us to continue to offer free admission while paying our artists.
