Below is a quick look at our organization’s spending for 2021 (Jan-Dec).
The main item we’d like to highlight is that the vast majority (almost 75%!) of our income is directed toward the Student Festival and Stipends—we are putting this money right back into our city and into the hands of creative professionals!
2021 Income
Breakdown:
- Grants (for the Student Shakespeare Festival): $7500, 47%
- Membership: $4830, 30%
- Art Stops (SDMA): $2200, 14%
- Donations: $890, 5%
- Ticket Sales: $620, 4%
2021 Expenses
- Student Shakespeare Festival (virtual): $3710, 37%
- We have been able to “rollover” certain grants to the 2022 Festival as it was necessary to be digital again.
- Artist and Creative Stipends: $3620, 36%
- Actors, directors, and other coordinators for the Society
- Administrative: $1560, 15%
- To keep things running
- Technology $740, 7%
- Digital costs: software, online storage/backup, virtual mailbox, etc.
- Other/Misc: $280, 3%
- Events: $175, 2%
